Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Grid Modernization Engineering Lead to steer efforts in microgrid, DERs, renewable and storage projects from feasibility through implementation.

Reporting to the Power and Industry Business Sector Leader, the role requires leadership of technical delivery and client discussions with a strong engineering background. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years in microgrids/DERs, PE licensure, and proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and

Qualifications

• 12+ years of direct technical experience with microgrids/DERs from feasibility to implementation
• PE license (Professional Engineer) or licensure in multiple states preferred
• Bachelor's or higher in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
• Driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design, drawing review and QA/QC; provide technical guidance to staff
• Evaluate equipment selection based on circuit configuration/functionality
• Develop technical deliverables and client White Papers; support client discussions
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and profitability
• Oversee pre-contract work: go/no-go, scope, schedule and fee
• Direct and mentor engineering staff; coordinate with other sectors and offices
• Lead pursuit activities and maintain client relationships; travel to projects as needed
• Communicate effectively with leadership to resolve issues and share resources
