Job summary

Entergy invites students for a Summer 2027 internship in Construction Engineering to support Grid Modernization deployment initiatives. You will work on scoping, design, and engineering of projects across Entergy operating companies, engaging with asset management, planning and operations teams.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration to deliver efficient project outcomes within the Grid Modernization program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in a relevant discipline.
• Engineering technology degree with PE may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed scoping and engineering plans for projects.
• Ensure adherence to Grid Modernization standards in scoping, design and engineering.
• Collaborate with PM, DOC, Data Maintenance, Planning, Operations, Transmission as needed.
• Review and QA design deliverables (internal and external).
• Audit design packages and construction jobs for standard compliance.
• Assist Right Of Way with permitting as needed.
• Support change management and rollout of new program development.
• Assist distribution automation in implementing smart devices for Grid Mod Projects.
• Share knowledge in industry meetings with peers.
• Resolve engineering conflicts affecting cost, schedule, quality or satisfaction.
• Provide technical engineering input to respond to regulators.
• Integrate safety, reliability, operability, constructability and configuration management into final products.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial)

Engineering technology degree with PE may be considered
