Job summary

Tapestry within Google’s moonshot ecosystem seeks a seasoned power systems engineer to act as a strategic bridge across engineering, product, and partner teams. You will shape end-to-end grid model strategy, drive CIM-based data standards, and ensure high-quality data ingestion and validation frameworks at scale.

You will own model quality assurance, oversee ingestion processes, and stage validated grid models into testing and production environments, collaborating closely with software

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in power systems modeling and analysis.
• Expertise with CIM (IEC 61970/61968) and data conversion between CIM and other formats.
• Familiarity with CIM user groups or IEC TC57 workgroups is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic technical bridge across cross-functional teams to align on data requirements.
• Define the Model Ingestion User Journey and Functional Requirements with Product Management.
• Leverage ingestion tooling to convert grid models to CIM and provide feedback for tooling improvements.
• Validate models for geolocation accuracy and electrical simulability against use-case requirements.
• Stage and deliver validated models into testing and production applications.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing with end-users and obtain engineering sign-off.
