Job summary

Tapestry, based in Mountain View, leads grid-model management to turn large-scale grid data into a reliable source of truth. As Engineering Manager, Grid Model Management, you will guide distributed systems and data infrastructure at scale, shaping the platform and directing a high-performing team.

You will collaborate with Product, UX, Data Science, ML, and Power Systems experts to deliver dependable software for grid planners worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience designing and building complex software, distributed systems, or data infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience directly managing software engineering teams, including hiring, developing engineers, and delivering complex products.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale data platforms, including graph or spatial data systems.
• Experience designing systems involving complex state management, data versioning, event-driven architectures, or similar technical challenges.
• Strong architectural judgment, with demonstrated experience setting technical direction for complex systems.
• Ability to translate complex technical, mathematical, or physical-domain requirements into scalable, reliable software.

Responsibilities

• Architect the platform for versioning, comparing, branching, merging, and collaborating on grid models.
• Design scalable grid data foundations bringing together formats and planning scenarios.
• Develop high-throughput ingestion pipelines with automated quality checks.
• Define architecture that scales with products, partners, and complex grid-planning needs.
• Hire, mentor, and grow engineers while fostering ownership and collaboration.
• Partner with Product, UX, Data Science, ML, and Power Systems to translate grid challenges into reliable software.
• Build capabilities for global operators across markets and regions.
