Job summary

Tapestry, a moonshot project of X/Alphabet, is building an engineering platform to bring large-scale grid models into a trusted source of truth. You will lead a high-performing team at HQ in Mountain View, shaping the platform that powers grid planning across multiple markets.

This highly technical leadership role focuses on distributed systems, data infrastructure, and collaboration with energy-domain experts to deliver scalable, reliable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years designing and building complex software, distributed systems, or data infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale data platforms.
• Experience with state management, data versioning, event-driven architectures.
• Strong architectural judgment and direction setting.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable software.

Responsibilities

• Architect the grid modelling platform and Git-for-grid vision.
• Scale ingestion pipelines and data validation.
• Lead and grow the engineering team.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and Data Science.
• Define architecture that scales with products and partners.
