Job summary

UNS Energy Corporation seeks a skilled Telecommunications Network Engineer to design, engineer, and support communications across substations, control centers, and field operations.

You will develop fiber optic, RF, microwave, and IP/MPLS networks, support SCADA/AMI, grid automation, and tele-protection systems, and coordinate with IT and utility teams to ensure reliability and security of data communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited institution or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of switching, routing, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, STP, WAN technologies, and IP/MPLS networks required or preferred.
• Experience with critical infrastructure communications systems including fiber optics, RF, microwave, and OT networks is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and support telecom and operational network solutions for utility operations.
• Develop and maintain fiber optic, RF, microwave, wireless, and IP/MPLS networks for substations and control centers.
• Support SCADA, AMI, grid automation, and tele-protection systems with secure data communications.
• Lead or assist telecom and operational network projects including planning, budgeting, design, and vendor coordination.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, and maintain cybersecurity and regulatory standards.
• Create engineering designs, documents, and standards; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
