Job summary

HireTalent is seeking a Distribution Engineer to support the rollout of automated field devices across an electric distribution system and to help push devices into an ADMS. You will configure capacitor banks, reclosers, and protection systems, and run system studies to optimize placement and performance.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in power systems or distribution engineering, hands-on with capacitors and SEL relays, and experience with Synergi or CYME for modeling, along with a solid

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
  • 2–3 years in power systems or distribution engineering
  • Hands-on with capacitor bank controllers, protection devices (SEL relays), and ADMS
  • System modeling experience with Synergi or CYME
  • Solid grasp of power distribution and utility operations
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Configure and deploy automated field devices capacitor banks, reclosers, protection systems
  • Run distribution modeling and system studies to optimize device placement and performance
  • Integrate field devices into the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)
  • Support communications testing, monitor device performance, troubleshoot issues
  • Contribute to IVVO (Volt-VAR Optimization) and FLISR initiatives
  • Partner with engineers, designers, and field crews and be the technical resource they call
