Job description

37 Acre campus, 20 minutes south of Chicago. DNV Accredited - licensed for 582 beds. Ingalls Family Care Centers in Flossmoor, Tinley Park, and Calumet City.

Under the direct supervision of the Chairperson of the Information Desk, Department Manager/Supervisor or Lead in collaboration with the Manager of Volunteer Services. The Volunteer is responsible for greeting everyone entering the hospital, delivering exceptional customer service by providing information and directions as needed and performing various services for patients and staff members as required. The volunteer will receive all visitors to the hospital, administer appropriate passes to visitors, provide information assistance to telephone callers, continuously update patient information and patient visitor pass files. Works in partnership with patient care units. Identifies and provides individual patient and family needs. Knows, follows, and actively supports the philosophy, mission and vision of Ingalls Hospital. Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures and standards of care. Observes, adheres to all corporate compliance requirements and communicates issues as they arise to the appropriate parties as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan.
