Position Summary
As a Greeter at All American Modern Sports Grill, you are the first and last point of contact for every guest who walks through the door. You set the tone for the dining experience by welcoming guests into our establishment warmly, managing the flow of seating, and ensuring that the guest experience starts and ends on a positive note. In a fast-paced sports bar environment, you’ll also help manage large crowds during game days, events, and peak service times with calm professionalism and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Interaction
- Greet every guest promptly, professionally, and with a smile
- Accurately quote wait times and manage waitlist using a reservation/seating system
- Escort guests to tables, presenting menus and informing them of their servers name
- Assist with special seating requests when possible (TV view, large parties, accessibility)
- During peak times, maintain organized entrance & manage seating availability quote times
- Politely enforce policies for large groups
- Thank departing guests and invite them to return
Reservation Management
- Answer incoming calls and respond to reservation inquiries & takeout orders
- Manage flow of business by pacing seatings to avoid overwhelming kitchen and servers
- Keep communication open with floor staff about table status, party sizes, and service flow
Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain a clean and organized greeter stand, entryway, and overall front-of-house
- Keep menus and promotional materials clean and stocked
- Maintain inventory and stock of mints, toothpicks, and crayons
- Perform opening, side work, and closing duties as directed by management
Qualifications
- Previous greeter or customer service experience is a plus
- Must be 16+ years old
- Strong organizational skills
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, mornings or evenings required

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods (4+ hours)

- Ability to work in loud, crowded conditions during peak service hours
- High-volume sports bar with restaurant dining and bar seating
- Loud and energetic atmosphere, especially during televised games and weekends
- Indoor and outdoor greeter points of contact depending on business volume
Greeters who demonstrate strong performance, professionalism, and leadership potential may move into roles such as food runner, busser, or server. This position is a great entry point for a hospitality career.
