Position Summary
The All American Modern Sports Grill Bartender is the ‘pulse’ of the front of house. You are on stage for every guest and team member that walks through our doors. You are responsible for keeping the pace of the shift. As a bartender, you are responsible for filling drink orders for customers either directly at the bar or through the service staff on the floor. When measuring and pouring beverages, you must avoid spillage or over pouring. You should be personable with customers at the bar and also work well with other bartenders, service staff and the kitchen staff to ensure prompt service. In addition to mixing and serving drinks, bartenders are required to maintain stock and prepare garnishes and fresh juices daily. You are also responsible for cleaning and polishing all glassware that leaves the bar. Bartenders must monitor customers for intoxication, determine when to deny service and, in some cases, arrange for safe transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Provide warm, positive, and prompt service to bar guests
- Create a fun, upbeat bar environment that encourages repeat business and guest loyalty
- Answer inquiries and provide recommendations on current menu items
- Retain learned material and promote signature products
- Manage transactions promptly and accurately through our point-of-sale system
- Handle complaints professionally with support from management when necessary
Drink Preparation & Service
- Ability to suggest and upsell (appetizers, dessert, side
- Prepare alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes and company specifications
- Serve beer (draft and bottled), wine, and craft cocktails efficiently and accurately
- Maintain full knowledge of the drink menu, rotating taps, spirits, & seasonal offerings
- Monitor guest consumption and follow responsible alcohol service policies
- Promote specials, events, and in-house promotions confidently and accurately
Bar Setup & Cleanliness
- Communicate clearly with kitchen, servers, and support to ensure smooth service
- Open and close the bar according to daily checklists
- Keep the bar clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift
- Wash and restock glassware and ensure all garnishes, ice bins, and wells replenished
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and bar area
- Coordinate with servers to fulfill drink orders for tables quickly and accurately
- Work closely with bar team and barbacks to maintain product levels and cleanliness
- Communicate any equipment issues, stock shortages, or guest concerns to management
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and bar area
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols, including food handling
- Check guest IDs to verify legal drinking age
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for both guests and coworkers
- Adhere to alcohol service laws and responsible service practices
Qualifications
- Must be 21+ years old (or meet the legal minimum age for alcohol service
- Previous bartending experience in a fast-paced restaurant or bar required.
- Working knowledge of beer, spirits, wine, and cocktail preparation required
- Must have a desire to learn about the world of whiskey and wine
- Basic math skills; ability to handle money accurately.
- Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., Toast, Aloha, Focus) is a plus
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, mornings or evenings as required

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods (6+ hours)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (empty kegs, boxes, etc)
- Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and perform repetitive motions
- High-volume sports bar with restaurant dining and bar seating.
- Energetic and loud, especially during televised games, events, or weekends
- Fast-paced shifts with periods of intense activity (pre-game rushes, halftime, etc)
- Low-light conditions and varying temperatures
With experience and demonstrated reliability, high-performing bartenders may be considered for Lead Bartender, Bar Trainer, or Bar Manager positions. An excellent role for those looking to grow in the hospitality or beverage industry.
