Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for a Planner 3 - Landscape Architect to support the development of Nashville’s greenways and open spaces. The role focuses on land acquisition for parks and trails, and coordinating with multiple agencies to deliver community-focused projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of planning experience.
• Master's degree and four (4) years of planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, design, acquisition, and construction of greenway and open space projects, including public/private partnerships and easement acquisitions.
• Manage public engagement, stakeholder coordination, and preparation of public presentations and reports.
• Ensure project compliance with procurement procedures, regulatory requirements, and departmental policies.
• Review plans for developments along planned greenways through planning reviews and rezoning processes.
• Prepare and oversee requisitions, RFPs, scopes of work, bids, and consultant contracts.
• Coordinate design and construction with local, state, and federal agencies and partners.
• Review plans submitted by consultants.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections for contract compliance and progress.
