Job summary

Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group, a Kelly Services unit, seeks a Greenhouse Technician for a long-term engagement in Indianapolis, IN. The role is full-time with comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, 401K and PTO.

Schedule includes 7:00 AM–5:30 PM with alternating days and a week of training. Compensation is $19/hour on weekdays and $26/hour on weekends, with safety and plant-care responsibilities as core duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or local equivalent.
• Must understand and be willing to work with strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to withstand work in greenhouses with temperatures between 85-100F.
• Must be able to tolerate environments with pollen, molds, mildews, soil, insects, plant debris.
• Must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, possess organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow SOPs for work.
• Must be able to discern when plants/greenhouses are outside normal parameters.
• Must obtain state pest application license within 60 days of employment (training provided).
• Must lift ~25 lbs.
• Must stand, bend, push/pull and walk for >4 hrs/day.
• Must communicate concerns to leader promptly.
• Must exhibit good interpersonal & professional skills in a research environment.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Watering greenhouses & growth chambers daily.
• Organizing plant orders within greenhouses based on watering and research needs.
• Performing pesticide applications as part of a team.
• Scouting for pests on plants in greenhouse regularly.
• Preparing greenhouse plant waste for devitalization.
• Maintaining cleanliness of greenhouses and corridors.
• Stock PPE stations in each greenhouse wing.
• Weekly safety eye wash/shower testing.
• Preparation and staging of pots and flats for soil requests.
• Proactively support internal customers by independently handling all assigned duties.
• Take initiative and report anything out of the ordinary quickly.

Greenhouse Technician

Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group Kelly OCG, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Greenhouse Technician for a long-term engagement at one of our Global agriculture clients in Indianapolis, IN. This role is a full-time, fully benefited position. As a Kelly OCG employee, you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and paid time off, including holiday, vacation and sick/personal time.

Schedule: 7AM-5:30PM

• Week 1: Tues, Sat, Sun
  
• Week 2: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri
  
• Training for 3 weeks on Mon-Fri, 7AM-4PM

Compensation: $19/hr weekdays; $26/hr on weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Preferred:

• Some greenhouse work experience, farm, or agriculture background.
