AFE seeks a dependable Greenhouse Maintenance Technician to support daily operation and upkeep of greenhouse facilities. This role focuses on maintaining infrastructure, equipment, and systems that enable staff to grow and manage plants, without direct plant care duties.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and environmental controls, and work with the greenhouse team to ensure smooth operations in a climate-controlled facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in maintenance, facilities, warehouse, or mechanical roles preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on greenhouse structures, equipment, and facility systems.
• Inspect and maintain heating, cooling, ventilation, irrigation, and environmental control systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot operational equipment to minimize downtime.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, walkways, storage spaces, and utility rooms.
• Assist with facility setup, breakdown, and seasonal preparation activities.
• Operate maintenance tools, machinery, and basic power equipment safely.
• Coordinate with greenhouse production staff to ensure operational needs are met.
• Replace filters, repair hoses, maintain plumbing connections, and address minor electrical or mechanical issues.
• Remove snow, debris, and waste materials from facility grounds as needed.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and report hazards or repair needs promptly.

This role focuses on maintaining the physical infrastructure, equipment, and operational systems that enable greenhouse staff to successfully grow and manage plants. The position does not involve direct plant care or cultivation duties.
