Job summary

Plantible Foods in Eldorado, TX seeks a Greenhouse Plant Production Operator (USP) to support pilot plant operations, cultivation systems, and facilities. You will help scale a novel, sustainable production system while working with engineers and R&D teams to optimize processes.

The role involves hands-on cultivation tasks, data recording, and ensuring safe, compliant operations in hot greenhouse environments. Prior food/manufacturing experience and forklift certification are a plus.

Qualifications

• Some prior experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of safe work practices in a facility manufacturing environment.
• Experience in basic technical/mechanical manufacturing.
• Ability to do basic math functions (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• Must be able to convert standard units of measurement.
• Forklift Certification or the ability to complete certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to stand 8+ hours a day, reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift over 50 lbs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early morning, evening or night shifts, as needed.
• Experience in chemical processing and automated control systems is a plus.
• Experience in hydroponics/aquaponics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on routine and non-routine cultivation operations, including pond cleaning, maintenance, and biomass harvesting.
• Monitor greenhouse environmental conditions and Lemna plant health to ensure consistent, high-quality biomass production.
• Collect, record, and enter operational and cultivation data accurately and consistently.
• Work safely and effectively in hot, humid greenhouse environments for extended periods of time.
• Follow standardized operating procedures and contribute to operational consistency across shifts.
• Assist with preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and upkeep of cultivation and greenhouse equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, and R&D teams to support process optimization and scaling efforts.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment in accordance with GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and food safety standards.
