Greenhouse & Landscaping - Seasonal Worker 2025

The City of Aurora is accepting applications for seasonal positions at Phillips Park Maintenance, available from March through November. Greenhouse Seasonal Workers will work with the Parks greenhouse and landscaping team, responsible for greenhouse operations, planting, and flower care across parks, zoo, and golf course locations. The role involves working early mornings, outdoors in varying weather conditions, and may include evenings and weekends.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Watering plants daily (by hand, cart, or water truck)
• Planting flowers
• Caring for planted areas and flower beds
• Weeding
• Litter and debris removal
• Plant health maintenance
• Restocking plant collections
• Troubleshooting and miscellaneous tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to maneuver carts safely
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Operate equipment safely
• Work independently

Must pass a physical, drug screen, and background check. The hourly wage ranges from $16.95 to $20.24, depending on qualifications. Seasonal employees may have promotional opportunities within the City.
