Overview

Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care for individuals on their journey to recovery from substances. Our team is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are seeking a skilled and empathetic Greenhouse Hand to join our mission-driven team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture and greenhouse operations. As a Greenhouse Hand, you will play a key role in guiding clients through their healing journey.

Duties

• Grow new plants from seeds; water, fertilize, and protect plants from pests and diseases
• Request the purchase of seeds, fertilizers, plants, tools, and other needed supplies
• Plant when to plant each species, forecast the demand to determine plant populations, and design planting and care schedules
• Prepare soil for planting, and plant or transplant seeds, bulbs, and cuttings
• Position and regulate plant irrigation systems in the greenhouses
• other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in growing and caring for plants
• Familiarity with seasonal cycles, plant species, and proper care requirements
• Ability to perform manual labor in varying temperatures and humidity
• Consistent monitoring of plants, identifying issues early
• Dependability in following schedules for watering, fertilizing, and greenhouse maintenance
