Job Overview
Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care for individuals on their journey to recovery from substances. Our team is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are seeking a skilled and empathetic Weekend Cook to join our mission-driven team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, knowledge of Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health a plus!
Duties
- Supervise the preparation and serving of food for at least 26 clients.
- Follow menu according to approved dietary and nutritional standards.
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for scheduled meal times.
- Prepare written orders for cooks on other shifts, if needed.
- Clean kitchen and storage areas daily including cleaning grill, dish washing and putting things away, supervising client assistants, inspect and organize refrigerator daily.
Qualifications
- Experience as a cook, able to handle all phases of kitchen management, planning, and cooking.
- One year as an institutional cook preferred.
- Must be dependable, reliable, and able to communicate verbal and written directions.
- Must have current food handlers card.
- First Aid/CPR certified or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
