Job summary

Copia Power seeks an Associate, Development Engineering to help bring large-scale renewable energy and data center load solutions to the U.S. power grid. You will support development, design reviews, and energy modeling in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Report to the Senior Manager, Engineering and work with Development, EPC, asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams as an individual contributor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (required).
• 1–2 years renewable energy experience.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, solar tech, and project finance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD tools and PVsyst or equivalent energy modeling software.
• Willing to work from multiple US offices at least 3 days/week.
• Travel up to 25% may be required.
• US work authorization without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support development engineering by creating and managing preliminary designs and studies for projects in development.
• Perform in-house preliminary designs 10% level using AutoCAD/Civil3D, PVcase, and internal tools.
• Develop energy resource assessment models.
• Contribute to energy assessment/production modeling standards.
• Manage on-site solar resource assessment and deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize OFftake, LCOE and IRR before EPC LNTP.
• Coordinate design standards with Copia EPC team for consistency.
• Review engineering consultants, vendors, and EPC contractors for Approved Vendor List.
• Help develop Development Engineering processes for efficient project evaluation.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
