Job summary

Greece Central School District in Greece, NY, seeks a Band Program Assistant to support the director during evening rehearsals and Saturday performances. Availability Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays evenings, plus Saturdays from November through March.

Candidates should have a background in field band or drum & bugle corps, strong knowledge of marching arts, and experience working with middle/high school students; excellent teamwork and clear communication with band families and the community.

Qualifications

• Background in field band and/or drum & bugle corps.
• Knowledge of marching arts (winds, percussion, colorguard, marching techniques).
• Experience with middle/high school students.
• Able to work well on a team and speak in front of band/parents/community.
• Highly organized and task oriented.
• Commitment to sustaining program caliber.

Responsibilities

• Availability evenings: Mon, Wed, Fri; Saturdays Nov–Mar.
• Attend and assist director in facilitating all evening rehearsals.
• Attend and assist director with all Saturday performances.
• Assist with payroll, facilities planning, and transportation information.

Minimum Requirements

Background in field band and/or drum & bugle corps.

Working knowledge of all aspects of the marching arts (winds, percussion, colorguard, marching, etc.) and ability to assume responsibility for sectional instruction, as well as assisting with music instruction and marching techniques

Position Summary/Responsibilities

Availability on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, as well as all day Saturday from November through March

Attending and assisting the director in facilitating all evening rehearsals.

Attending and assisting the director with all Saturday performances

Assisting the director in providing information to the GMB Program Coordinator regarding, but not limited to payroll, facilities planning, and transportation

Other duties as assigned by the director

$2,700 stipend as per GTA contract

Stipend may be adjusted if availability changes between November and March
