Job summary

Van Buren Intermediate School District SPECIAL SERVICES in Michigan seeks a GSRP Third Teacher to support the teaching teams in providing high quality services to students enrolled in the program. Assignment location is South Haven Maple Grove Elementary with Monday–Thursday work and occasional Friday trainings, reporting to GSRP Administration in Lawrence, MI.

Required: High School Diploma; training in HighScope Preschool Curriculum and COR Advantage; CPR and First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Training in HighScope Preschool Curriculum® and COR Advantage® preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certified.
• Previous work experience in early childhood is preferred; knowledge of GSRP services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the daily program under the lead teacher.
• Prepare the learning environment, set up centers, and assemble materials under the lead teacher.
• Support teaching team with observations and data for child assessment.
• Serve as substitute staff for lead or associate teacher when assigned.
• Assist with housekeeping and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to GSRP.
• Treat children and families with respect and dignity.
• Attend meetings and trainings and pursue professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality about children and families.
• Supervise and participate in outdoor play.
• Recordkeeping: attendance, meals/snacks, assessments, screens, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
