Job summary

Key Lakes/Great Lakes Fleet seeks skilled Mates to operate on Great Lakes vessels. The role supervises crew, navigates ships, and ensures safety and regulatory compliance. You will prepare voyage documentation and maintain equipment while supporting fleet operations.

The position requires strong English communication, compliance with USCG rules, and readiness to work in a demanding Great Lakes environment on schedule.

Qualifications

• Must hold Merchant Mariner Credentials as listed.
• Written and verbal command of English required.
• USCG health standards compliance per NVIC 04-08.

Responsibilities

• Stands the 8–12 navigation watch.
• Fills out the trip sheets.
• Fills out the Army Corps of Engineers Vessel Operation Report.
• Inventories and maintains medical equipment and kits.
• Develops and maintains good customer relations for the fleet.
• Other functions as assigned by the Captain.
