Job summary

Leprino Foods Company in Lubbock, TX is seeking a GRD Operator Trainee for our 600+ person facility. The entry‑level role focuses on learning safe operation of the GRD system under direct supervision while building proficiency in blend quality, addback materials, and product standards.

The position starts at $21.35 per hour; after certification, $23.65/hr, with a $1 differential for hours from 6pm to 6am. Weekly pay.Training aims toward advancement to GRD Operator.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language
• Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary
• Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs
• Basic math skills to perform mathematical functions
• Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures
• Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes
• Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts
• Experience machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment and HMIs preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate the GRD system—Assist with running and monitoring the system according to SOPs, maintaining temperature and product consistency
• Perform equipment shutdown and CIP prep—Learn shutdown procedures, CIP connections, monitor strengths, reassemble equipment
• Verify blend accuracy—Monitor blend percentages and ensure pallets meet production specs
• Troubleshoot equipment—Identify early signs of issues and communicate to leads/supervisors
• Complete operational documentation—Assist with checklists, inspections, sanitation records, and CIP titration
• Follow safety, GMP, and SOP requirements—Learn standards for safe operation and quality checks
• Communicate effectively—Relay information to team members and supervisors, including quality findings
• Demonstrate job proficiency—Progress toward PSOP certification
• Follow sanitation procedures during shutdown
• Complete paperwork accurately and monitor data readings
