Job summary

Simmons Foods, Inc. in Emporia, KS is seeking an hourly production associate to support gravy production. You will read batching sheets, weigh and stage ingredients, inspect bags for quality, and record lot numbers and batch details.

You’ll help keep the gravies room clean and maintain safety while following company procedures. The role requires physical ability to lift 40–60 lb bags, adherence to PPE, and teamwork within a production environment.

Qualifications

• Read batching sheets to determine ingredient quantities.
• Inspect each ingredient bag for quality and safety.
• Record batch data including lot numbers and dates.
• Follow GMP and safety practices in production areas.
• Lift bags and totes up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Read and accurately interpret batching sheets and other production documents to determine the order and quantity of ingredients.
• Stage ingredients to be batched and clean totes to contain the batches.
• Record production data including lot numbers, supplier, and batch plan numbers.
• Inspect bags for condition, foreign material, lumps, odor, infestation, or expiry.
• Batch ingredients, weigh per card into tote, label and stage.
• Maintain production schedule ahead by 15 batches and keep area clean.
• Assist in cleaning gravies room, filtration system, and dry ingredient areas; cover unused ingredients.
