Job summary

CCL is seeking a Gravure printing press operator in Collierville, TN, to produce color process labels on rolls of flexible film. This role requires setup, operation, and adherence to job jackets and specifications.

No prior press experience is required as training is provided; candidates must be ready to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and contribute to a strong quality culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read and follow job jackets and specifications.
• Able to read rulers to 1/32 inch and 1 mm.
• Experience in press operations is not required; on‑the‑job training is provided.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates Gravure printing press to produce basic to multi‑color process printing on shrink sleeve labels.
• Trains co‑workers and new hires in setup and operation.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the work area and equipment.
• Ensures color, registration, varnish and quality meet specifications.
• Reads and reviews job jackets, specs and customer requirements.

Shift hours:

1st shift (Friday - Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm) - (10% shift differential on top of base pay)

WITHOUT PREVIOUS PRESS EXPERIENCE, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE SEVERAL MONTHS OF TRAINING DURING THE WEEK, PRIOR TO MOVING TO THE WEEKEND SHIFT.

Job Summary:

Sets up and operates Gravure printing press to produce basic to multiple color quality process printing of shrink sleeve labels on rolls of flexible plastic film and other types of stock as per job jacket instructions. Must be able to set up and produce according to standards and pre-determined production times.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
• Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
• Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
• Must have the ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1 mm.
• Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
• Receives and reviews job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Retrieves and receives dies, inks, materials, plates, etc. and sets up press.
• Secures approvals before running job and then solves problems to ensure quality is excellent. Secures help as needed.
• Constantly monitors and adjusts press for consistent products; ensures product is color-correct, in registration, varnished, etc.
• Cuts sample of printed material from end of printed roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off-center impressions.
• Maintains inks, colors and registration to ensure quality meets specifications.
• Operates hand truck, and hand tools.
• Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.

Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 125 pounds.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds overhead.

Requires constant movement and bending.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
