Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Log Yard Equipment Operator at the Kalispell Lumber facility in Montana. The role involves operating log sorters and heavy equipment, maintaining production flow, and collaborating with truck drivers and yard staff.

On-the-job training is provided, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company. Qualifications include 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, basic welding/hydraulic knowledge, strong safety practices, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Welding and basic repair knowledge (hydraulic systems).
• Familiarity with safety procedures and able to follow them.

Responsibilities

• Maximize and maintain production flow of raw logs entering Kalispell Log Yard and feeding Kalispell Lumber/Plywood facilities.
• Work closely with Log Yard Operators, Scalers, Inventory Lead, Barker Operator and Truck Drivers.
• Operate log sorter and heavy equipment (e.g., cat machines), live bottom, dump truck, grader, and water truck.
• Perform daily inspections, maintenance tasks, and report needed repairs to mechanics.
