Job description

$15.00 - $19.00 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness, and product assortment are maintained throughout the store, specifically in the grocery department. This person will be receiving, stocking, rotating product, facing product, taking special orders, and providing exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Ensure the quality and freshness of all products and services provided by the grocery department
• Maintain appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the grocery department
• Confirm pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
• Ensure the store is cleaned daily and meets company standards for appearance
• Deliver excellent customer service to all customers
• Receive, store, and stock a wide variety of products for the grocery department
• Remove out-of-date products from the shelves
• Build end-cap and other special product displays
• Assist the Grocery Manager with ordering products based on past and projected sales
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and timely
• Set a professional and positive example for others
• Assist as needed to ensure the overall success of the store

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

The work environment is generally safe and comfortable, with possible exposure to cold, hot, slippery, and wet conditions. Employees are regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, reach, perform repetitive motions, and coordinate eye, hand, and foot movements. Standing, walking, and bending are required throughout the day. Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds is necessary.
