PART-TIME POSITION

$15.00 - $19.00 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness and product assortment is maintained throughout the store, specifically in the grocery department. This person will be receiving, stocking and rotating product, facing product, taking special orders, and providing exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures.
2. Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided by the grocery department.
3. Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the grocery department.
4. Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items.
5. Ensures the store is cleaned daily and meets the company standards for appearance.
6. Delivers excellent customer service to all customers.
7. Receives, stores and stocks a wide variety of products for the grocery department.
8. Pulls out of date product from the shelves.
9. Builds end-cap and other special product displays.
10. Assists Grocery Manager with ordering product to meet the needs of the store based on past and projected sales.
11. Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
12. Sets a professional and positive example to others.
13. Assists as needed to ensure the success of the store as a whole.

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

1. Consistent and daily interaction with store associates.

3. Consistent and daily interaction with vendors.

1. A high school diploma or GED preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities.
2. Basic math skills.
3. Understanding of product rotation.
4. Must enjoy working with and handling grocery products.
5. Should have a passion for customer service.
6. Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
7. Excellent organization and planning skills.
8. Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with and manage diverse groups of people.
9. Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team.

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to cold, hot, slippery and wet conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
