Job summary

Service Corporation International in Bradenton, FL is seeking a Cemetery Maintenance Associate to handle openings and closings for burials, install foundations and memorials, and perform routine maintenance tasks.

The role requires operating hand-tools and heavy equipment, following safety protocols, and completing client work orders. A High School diploma and at least six months of equipment experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment such as shovel, rake, weed trimmer, and chainsaw.
• Ability to operate mechanical equipment including dump trucks, tractors, utility vehicles, and backhoes.
• Ability to accurately use measuring devices (tape measure, yardstick, etc.).
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and client families.
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 30 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs openings & closings for burials, entombments and inurnments.
• Sets, installs, and assembles foundations, memorials, and markers.
• Installs outer burial containers.
• Handles and completes work orders from client families as it pertains to grave and marker maintenance.
• Responds to and completes requests for service/work orders.
• Conducts Interment Verification Procedures.
• Maintains and protects company assets by performing preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
