Job summary

Capitol Terminals is seeking qualified gravel train drivers for their Michigan based facilities. This full‑time role offers up to $31.00/hr, comprehensive benefits, and a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for experienced drivers.

Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, safe loading/unloading, DOT compliance, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. The ideal candidate has a valid CDL A with doubles endorsement and at least 1 year gravel train experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL Class A with doubles endorsement.
• 1 year of prior gravel train experience.
• Must have a clean driving record in the last 5 years and maintain a clean driving record during employment.
• Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen.
• High School diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Safely driving truck to and from destination applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads.
• Handling truck controls for safe loading and unloading of material.
• Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving the plant to ensure delivery to the correct customer and job site.
• Strive to meet customer expectations without exception.
• Keep equipment in acceptable condition of cleanliness using approved cleaning materials and supplies.
• Maintain contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructions.
• Assist other company employees as needed.
• Must be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management.
• Cooperate and promote a team concept with all other company employees, as well as customers.
• Adhere to all Company, DOT, and OSHA rules and regulations at all times.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
