Job summary

Weld County Public Works seeks a skilled Grader III to operate motor graders and other road maintenance equipment on rural gravel roads in Grover, Colorado. This is a full-time role reporting to the Grover crew with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The position includes data reporting, participation in snow and weather operations, and readiness for emergency response. Strong English communication and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of heavy or light equipment operation including motor grader experience.
• Valid Colorado CDL Class A with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within the specified time frame.
• MSHA certification preferred.
• Must read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public and complete records.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment for maintenance and reconstruction on county gravel roads.
• Report and record data as required; handle administrative duties with basic computer skills.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in snow and other weather operations.
• Collaborate with county staff and the public while maintaining safety and courtesy.
