Job summary

The Alzheimer's Association is seeking a Grassroots Advocacy Manager in Towson, Maryland to lead state and federal grassroots advocacy, recruit volunteers, and advance public policy priorities. This role reports to the Chapter Executive and collaborates with local government relations staff.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years in grassroots advocacy or related nonprofit work, with willingness to travel across Maryland and DC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in grassroots advocacy or related fields.
• Experience recruiting and mobilizing volunteers.
• Willingness to travel across the state, including evenings and weekends (up to 30%).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement year-round state-level grassroots advocacy strategy.
• Manage federal grassroots advocacy program in assigned geography.
• Recruit and retain advocate volunteers to meet objectives.
• Train and mobilize advocate volunteers for policy engagement.
• Develop and manage advocate volunteer relations with chapter leaders.
• Integrate grassroots advocacy with internal teams and partners.
• Promote the Association’s policy priorities with local colleagues and volunteers.
• Report lobbying activities and ensure compliance with tracking systems.
• Support planning of State Alzheimer’s Advocacy Days at the state capitol.
