Job summary

Google is seeking a software engineer to contribute to the Skia Graphics team within Chrome Graphics, delivering 2D/2.5D graphics features for Google’s platforms. You will work with native designers and web developers to render graphics across Chrome, Android, Wear, Flutter, and other products.

As part of Platforms and Devices, you will help advance graphics rendering, APIs, and performance. Individual pay includes base salary, bonus, equity, and benefits, with interviews often in-person in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in graphics programming languages (e.g., C++, OpenGL), or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 1 year of platform development experience (Android, Chrome on Mac/Win/Linux, Web, iOS).
• Master's degree or PhD in CS or related field (preferred).
• Experience with low-level graphics programming and vector graphics (preferred).
• Experience with SIMD and platform development across Android, Chrome, Web, or iOS (preferred).
• Familiarity with graphics APIs (SVG, Canvas2D, GPU APIs, etc.) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop shaping and alignment APIs to support the latest designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional design and engineering teams to build high-quality cross-platform graphics solutions.
• Triage and resolve system issues, and use AI to accelerate engineering productivity.
