Job summary

The SIU School of Medicine in Springfield seeks a graphic design associate to help plan, design, and execute graphic assignments and contribute to animation, video and digital products for SIU Medicine and SIU School of Medicine.

The role involves designing final production-ready artwork for various media, coordinating with photographers and videographers, and supporting marketing and communications efforts with strong typography and brand guidance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in visual design with emphasis in visual arts communication or related field meets requirements.
• Twenty-Four (24) months of graphic design experience comparable to the level.
• Thirty-Six (36) months of coursework and/or work experience in graphic/visual arts leading to a degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned skilled graphic design work, such as determining project objectives and preparing specifications.
• Designs and prepares final production-ready artwork for media including video projects.
• Specifies photographic-work needs or performs photographic work.
• Produces final graphic images for video, digital animation, motion graphics, slides, print and web.
• Selects and manipulates typography for artwork.
• Assists printers and pre-press operators to ensure methods are followed.
• Performs other related marketing and communications duties.
