Job summary

FASTSIGNS is seeking a Full-time Graphic Designer to join our team. You will create computer-generated graphics and vinyl outputs, review customer files, and prepare materials for production.

The role requires 1–2 years of graphic design experience and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under deadlines. Responsibilities

• Create computer-generated full-color graphics and vinyl output for substrates.
• Modify designs from customer drawings or provided files for output.
• Determine layout, type, and size based on space and production requirements.
• Inspect jobs for accuracy before output and ensure correct materials and settings.
• Maintain customer logo library and convert graphics as needed.
• Follow layouts to apply vinyl or full-color images on substrates.
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application (cutting, laminating, cleaning).
• Weed excess vinyl and operate printer(s).
• Perform quality checks pre- and post-production and proof for errors.
• Finish by laminating and mounting pieces.
• Report inventory levels and stock to production management.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer Will

• Create computer-generated full-color graphics and/or vinyl output that can be printed and mounted to a substrate or weeded, cut and applied
• Complete or modify designs from customer drawings, files, or exact output of customer-provided design for output to media
• Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
• Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurate
• Maintain customer logo library; convert graphic files
• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Operate and maintain printer(s)
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
• Clean and maintain storage areas
