Job summary

ASTEC is seeking a creative Graphic Designer to develop logos, website graphics, social media assets and branding materials. The role collaborates with engineers and marketing to ensure designs meet brand standards and deadlines.

The candidate will translate project requirements into compelling visuals, producing 2D and 3D art, layouts, and marketing collateral for print and digital media while maintaining quality across all channels.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Works with the Marketing Leadership and the larger marketing team to produce layouts, logos, branding, and marketing materials for digital and print media, collaborating with teams to meet brand standards and deadlines.

Key Deliverables

• Conceptualize visuals based on project requirements.
• Design assets such as logos, website graphics, social media posts, marketing materials, and branding materials.
• Actively communicate with team about the layout and design.
• Review final layouts and suggest improvements when needed.
• Apply professional graphic design principles and develop new ideas to support business development.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

• Create and prepare art (both 2D and 3D) for use in all media (Print, Web, Video, Audio Visual, Trade Shows, etc.)
• Create digital art using AutoCAD and/or other 2D engineering drawings.
• Work closely with engineers, product designers, and marketing team(s) to ensure digital 3D art and rendered digital imagery conforms to design specifications, machine operation, and visual aesthetics. This includes the conversion, importation, and/or replication of 3D art from SolidWorks and Inventor format files into industry standard 3D animation and rendering applications.
• Produce animation type videos with special sound effects, music, voiceover and other media assets as required. Acquire copyright clearance when necessary.
• Work closely with other other memeber of the marketing team creating internal and external Internet properties and delivery outlets.
• Ensure all materials align with established brand guidelines and quality standards.
• Prepare final layouts of brochures, specification sheets and print ads for printing according to written and oral instructions.
• Discuss projects at various stages of completion and make changes as necessary.
• File project data on department server upon project completion and assist in maintaining the server in an organized manner.
• Project a positive company image by interacting with fellow associates, customers and corporate management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner.
• Occasional travel may be required. Must have valid driver's license and good driving record. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are

• Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art or related field
• Experience in Advertising, graphic design and print experience required.
• Knowledge of Mac/PC computers and peripherals required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with design software (Adobe Creative Suite) and strong knowledge of typography, layout, and color theory.
• Experience with industry standard 3D software a plus.
• Photography experience using dSLR cameras, lenses, lighting, and other photographic equipment a plus.
• Video and video production experience a plus.
• Must be able to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Computer skills in Adobe Creative Suite programs and word documents and spreadsheets required.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
• Must be able to work satisfactorily as a team member.
• Must possess a sense of urgency to complete projects on time.
