Job summary

The Newark Board of Education invites qualified applicants to join our community of educators as a Teacher of Graphic Design in Newark, NJ. The position includes responsibilities for planning, instruction, assessment, and collaboration with staff and families.

Qualifications

• NJ Department of Education Standard Certificate, CE, or CEAS is required or applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Evaluate student progress regularly and prepare progress reports.
• Instruct pupils in citizenship, communication skills, and general elements of the curriculum as required by state law.
• Provide individual, small, or large group instruction to adapt the curriculum to pupils with varying intellectual and special abilities.
• Supervise out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day as required.
• Coordinate work of aides, teacher assistants, and paraprofessionals.
• Identify student needs and collaborate with colleagues to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
• Communicate with parents and staff about individual student progress and development.
