Job summary

Qualifications

  • Valid New Jersey Standard Teaching Certificate, CE, or CEAS as mandated by the NJDOE.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans a program of study meeting students' needs, interests and abilities.
  • Evaluates student progress regularly and prepares progress reports.
  • Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic communications as required by state law and regulations.
  • Provides individual, small, and large group instruction as appropriate, adapting curriculum for varied abilities.
  • Instructs pupils in proper care and use of textbooks, equipment and materials.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior for an orderly environment.
  • Selects and requisitions books and materials and maintains inventory records.
  • Develops instructional plans and organizes class time for a balanced program.
