Job summary

Long Beach Community College District is seeking a Graphic Design Specialist to support Public Affairs and Marketing with digital and print design, creative development, and graphic file management. You will design layouts for weekly and monthly publications and provide professional graphic design services to support district communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in creative/graphic design, fine arts, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of creative/graphic designing for a public agency, advertising agency, or client-side advertising department; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• California driver’s license may be required, plus ability to maintain insurability under the District’s vehicle insurance policy

Position details

• Location: Long Beach, CA (onsite)
• Campus coverage: Liberal Arts Campus (LAC), with support for both campuses
• Employment type: Full time (40 hours/week) / Bargaining Unit
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Salary range: USD 6,179.19 - 7,616.74 per monthly
• Eligibility list: valid for 12 months after approval/ratification by the Personnel Commission; may be used to fill vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification and related classifications
• Advanced salary placement: new employees generally start at Step 1; requests typically capped at Step C (case-by-case basis)
