Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States seeks a Grants Manager to oversee the full grant life cycle, from research and planning to submission and post-award reporting. You will work closely with Development, Finance, and program leadership to craft funder-responsive proposals and ensure compliance across multiple funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years grant-writing experience.
• Experience with federal proposal development and compliance preferred.
• Excellent writing, editing, research, and time-management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex funding guidance and coordinate teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full grant pipeline from research to submission.
• Interpret RFPs/NOFOs and translate requirements into work plans.
• Lead proposal planning with program, finance, and partners.
• Coordinate budgets, match, and indirect costs with Finance.
• Maintain grant systems, calendars, and funder portals.
• Ensure compliance, reporting, and renewals throughout award life cycle.
