Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States is seeking a Grants Manager in Louisville, KY to lead the full grant life cycle from opportunity research to post-award reporting. You will coordinate with Program, Finance, Compliance, and Development teams to craft competitive proposals and manage funder relationships.

The role requires bachelor’s degree and grant-writing experience, strong writing and organizational skills, and proficiency with grant tracking systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required with strong grant-writing experience.
• Experience developing clear, persuasive proposals; coordinating submissions; managing deadlines; and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full grant pipeline from research to submission and renewals.
• Review RFPs, NOFOs, and grant requirements; translate into clear work plans and deadlines.
• Lead proposal planning with Program and Finance to confirm design, target population, and budget needs.
• Research, write, edit, and submit complete funder-responsive proposals and budgets.
• Coordinate with Finance on budgets, indirect costs, and match requirements.
• Maintain grant systems, portals, and calendars; ensure compliance and timely reporting.
• Monitor compliance risks and report issues promptly to leadership.
• Represent VOA Mid-States with funders and internal stakeholders; ensure timely updates.
