Job summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Grants Project Manager within the Finance Grants department. The role involves researching federal, state, tribal and private grant programs, writing funding proposals, and coordinating post-award program reporting for Tribal Affairs and Ponca Health Services.

This exempt, full-time position requires extensive knowledge of federal pre- and post-award grants administration and will involve collaboration across tribal leadership and departments throughout

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience managing federal, state, and tribal grants.
• Strong knowledge of Federal Assistance Regulations and Audit Requirements.
• Advanced experience with grant database management platforms.
• Experience providing administrative support for complex systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
• Background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Research grant programs and coordinate with tribal leadership to develop proposals.
• Prepare and submit competitive grant applications with required budgets and compliance reports.
• Collaborate with tribal departments to address needs and priorities in proposals.
• Manage post-award budgeting and entry of budgets into grants systems.
• Schedule meetings and provide updates on grant progress and deadlines.
• Track performance goals and financial reporting deadlines in the grants system.
• Monitor grant-funded projects and report progress to leadership.
• Identify deviations and request prior approvals for budget/modifications.
• Prepare programmatic reports and respond to leadership requests.
