We are a team of marketing, communications, graphic design, and media relations professionals supporting 50+ hospital departments, hospital-owned and managed clinics, the Foundation, and hospital-supported guilds and volunteers. We execute a strategic marketing plan aligned with Pullman Regional’s strategic objectives, priority projects, and fundraising priorities. We are self-starters with a bias for action, capable of operating in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while keeping sight of the bigger picture and an inclusive culture. We work onsite, personally connecting with colleagues and community, and serve as representatives of Pullman Regional at regional and community networking functions.
Position Overview
The Grants & Strategic Partnerships Coordinator supports Pullman Regional Hospital’s mission by identifying, securing, and managing grant funding while cultivating strategic partnerships that advance organizational priorities. The role leads grant writing, reporting, and coordination with internal and external partners to support initiatives in population health, strategic planning, and community collaboration. It also supports legislative engagement, recognition opportunities, and strategic projects that expand the hospital’s impact and financial sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an annual grant plan and timeline.
- Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities aligned with strategic priorities.
- Write, develop, and submit competitive grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other funding organizations.
- Coordinate grant application processes, gathering internal data, budgets, narratives, and supporting documentation.
- Manage awarded grants to ensure compliance with funding requirements, timelines, and reporting obligations.
- Prepare and submit grant reports, impact summaries, and outcome documentation for funders.
- Track and report grant revenue and program outcomes to demonstrate impact and return on investment.
- Track and communicate the financial impact of grants and partnership initiatives, including revenue generated and cost savings.
- Develop and steward relationships with granting foundations and funding partners.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify funding opportunities supporting strategic initiatives.
- Maintain oversight of grant timelines, deliverables, and documentation systems.
- Coordinate and maintain contracts with external grant‑writing consultants or contractors.
- Coordinate applications and submissions for local, regional, and national recognition awards.
- Coordinate and support partnerships with key community organizations, including Washington State University, Whitman County Health Network, Chambers, Rural Collaborative, and other regional collaborators.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies and legislators.
- Support strategic project management for initiatives related to population health, community partnerships, and organizational priorities.
- Monitor legislative developments and support engagement efforts related to healthcare policy and rural health initiatives.
- Coordinate hospital participation in regional collaborations such as the Rural Health Collaborative and community networks.
- Support strategic planning initiatives by identifying funding sources and partnership opportunities that advance organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public administration, nonprofit management, healthcare administration, business, or related field; or equivalent full‑time work experience.
- Minimum of five years of experience in grant writing, grant management, fundraising, strategic partnerships, or related work.
- Demonstrated experience writing successful grant proposals and managing reporting requirements.
- Excellent written communication skills, including persuasive and technical writing.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and translate program outcomes into compelling reports.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other digital collaboration tools.
- Experience working in healthcare, nonprofit, or rural health environments.
- Experience coordinating foundation or government grant programs.
- Certification in grant writing, project management, or nonprofit management.
- Familiarity with regional or national healthcare foundations and rural health initiatives.
