Job summary

The Public Interest Network seeks a Grants Department Assistant to work with advocates and organizers nationwide to raise grant funding for our campaigns protecting the environment and the public interest.

The role focuses on researching funders, maintaining databases, drafting proposals, meeting deadlines, and supporting organization-building activities across our network. A two-year commitment is required, with opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and ideally one year of relevant professional experience, with strong writing and administrative skills.
• Highly organized and able to develop or learn systems and train others.
• Strong writing and communication skills; able to translate campaigns into compelling stories.

Responsibilities

• Researching and identifying potential funders to support our work;
• Maintaining our central database of information on foundations, staff and board members;
• Curating cultivation lists of current and potential funders to keep updated on our programs and campaigns;
• Maintaining our grantseeking activity reporting system, ensuring accuracy and deadlines;
• Writing and editing grant proposals, funder updates, grant reports, and other pitch materials;
• Other duties as assigned - supporting organization-building activities.
