Job summary

The Public Interest Network seeks a detail-oriented Grants Department Assistant to work with advocates and organizers to raise grant funding for campaigns protecting the environment and public interest.

The role involves researching funders, managing a central database, drafting grant materials, and ensuring timely reporting. The two-year commitment requires strong judgment, discretion, and project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; entry-level candidates with strong writing and organizational skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong writing and communication skills; ability to translate campaigns into compelling stories.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Researching and identifying potential funders to support our work.
  • Maintaining our central database of information on foundations, staff and board members, and news in the funding community.
  • Curating cultivation lists of current and potential funders to keep updated on our programs and campaigns.
  • Maintaining grantseeking activity reporting system, ensuring accuracy and meeting key deadlines.
  • Writing and editing grant proposals, funder updates, grant reports, and other pitch materials.
  • Other duties as assigned as part of The Public Interest Network central staff.
