Job summary

The University of Florida is seeking a Research Administrator II to manage proposal development, submission, and post-award activities on the Gainesville campus. The role requires coordinating with PIs, DSP, and sponsor portals to ensure timely, compliant submissions.

Responsibilities include budgeting, budget justification, and adherence to sponsor guidelines while maintaining strong communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and two years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with UF systems (UFIRST, PeopleSoft) and strong computer skills are preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple proposals with sponsor deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prepare budgets and budget justifications; ensure compliance with sponsor requirements and CAS.
  • Coordinate and review proposal components for accuracy and consistency.
  • Enter proposals in UFIRST and submit for review; liaise with DSP to facilitate negotiations.
  • Post-award management: payroll, budget monitoring, subaward oversight and reporting.
