Job summary

University of New Mexico, Los Alamos Campus, seeks a Grants Support Officer to provide comprehensive pre‑award support for externally funded grants and contracts. The role partners with faculty, staff, and external sponsors to identify opportunities, develop proposals, and coordinate submission processes.

The successful candidate will manage complex budgets, reviewer narratives, and institutional compliance, while serving as a liaison across campus and with UNM’s Office of Sponsored Projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; at least 5 years of related experience.
• Completed degree(s) above minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience coordinating grant funded opportunities and complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify grant funding opportunities from diverse sources for campus stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on sponsor requirements, deadlines, and allowable costs.
• Collaborate on post‑award reporting and distribution of funds.
• Develop grant proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with departments to prepare narratives, graphics, and required materials.
• Maintain databases and reference materials for proposals and awards.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines and university policies.
