Job summary

Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Grants Project Manager to research grant programs, write funding proposals, and coordinate post-award reporting for Tribal Affairs and Ponca Health Services. The role requires extensive knowledge of federal pre/post-award grants administration and collaboration with tribal leadership.

This position will drive grant lifecycle activities from application prep to closeout, with training to support other Tribal programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in grants management, business administration, public administration, accounting, budgeting or related field.
• Three years of experience managing federal, state, and tribal grants with pre/post-award compliance focus.
• Strong knowledge of Federal Assistance Regulations (OMB Circulars, A-87/Cost Principles, A-102 etc.).
• Advanced experience with grant database management platforms.
• Experience providing administrative support for complex systems and implementation management.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
• Successful background checks including drug/alcohol, motor vehicle, education, and criminal history.

Responsibilities

• Research federal, state, tribal, and private grant programs aligning with tribal priorities.
• Prepare and submit competitive grant applications with budgets, narratives, and compliance reports.
• Lead cross-department collaboration to reflect tribal needs in proposals.
• Manage post-award budgeting and enter budgets into grants systems.
• Schedule post-award kickoff meetings and provide progress updates to leadership.
• Track program milestones and financial reporting deadlines in the grants system.
• Identify deviations from budget/scope and coordinate with agencies for approvals.
• Prepare non-competing continuation applications for multi-year grants.
• Monitor program income and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
• Prepare materials for site visits and audits by awarding agencies.
• Submit programmatic reports reflecting progress and outcomes.
• Provide timely updates to PTN leadership and support in grants software.
• Support other Tribal departments with grants administration needs.
