The North Carolina Community Foundation seeks a Grants Program Associate to support grantmaking processes with administrative and clerical duties. This full-time role is based at NCCF’s headquarters in Raleigh, with a minimum in-office presence each week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Three or more years’ work experience in philanthropic/nonprofit sector, grants management, online systems and database administration, or community relations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer grants through an online grants platform and database.
  • Review applications and/or grant recommendations for eligibility and compliance.
  • Prepare materials to facilitate grant decision-making and recommendations.
  • Conduct due diligence according to established protocols.
  • Ensure administration compliance with legal, IRS, and NCCF requirements.
  • Communicate with staff, fundholders and nonprofit organizations effectively towards grant distribution.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping of grants distributions.
  • Support grant programs through all process stages, including application, evaluation, and monitoring.
  • Identify and implement cross functional process improvements in collaboration with the grants team.
  • Support educational content about grantmaking practices and training staff and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide reports as needed to demonstrate grant activity.

Job description

The North Carolina Community Foundation transforms the collective generosity of our donors into a permanent source of community support, with a focus on the state’s rural areas. NCCF partners with donors and a network of affiliates to sustain over 1,300 endowments totaling over $600 million in assets. Nearly $360 million has been awarded as grants to charitable organizations and scholarships to students, creating stronger communities for generations to come.

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Grants Program Associate.

Summary

The Grants Program Associate will provide a range of administrative and clerical duties supporting grantmaking processes. This is a full-time administrative position based at NCCF’s headquarters in Raleigh. This role requires a minimum number of days in the office each week. When not in the office, work may be performed from a Raleigh-based location.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in philanthropic/nonprofit sector, grants management, online systems and database administration, or community relations, including three or more years’ work experience.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to work with a committed, engaged team. The hiring range for this position is $61,000 – $63,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. NCCF is an equal opportunity employer.
