Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Grants Manager to lead and support grant operations in Washington, DC. This high-visibility role oversees grant management activities, ensures compliance, and helps optimize processes while guiding the grants team.

The ideal candidate has extensive grants and financial management experience, strong knowledge of grant compliance, and the ability to enhance day-to-day grant operations. NetSuite experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of grants and financial management experience required.
• Strong experience managing grant operations, compliance, and financial requirements.
• Demonstrated understanding of the financial and accounting components of grant management.
• Experience evaluating and improving grant processes and workflows.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple grants, priorities, and deadlines.
• Experience providing leadership or guidance within a grants team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across finance, accounting, programs, and other departments.
• NetSuite experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the organization's grant management and grant operations.
• Oversee grant administration throughout the grant lifecycle.
• Monitor grants to ensure compliance with applicable grant requirements, policies, and reporting obligations.
• Partner with accounting and finance teams on the financial management of grants.
• Review grant activity and supporting financial information for accuracy and compliance.
• Evaluate existing grant workflows, processes, and internal controls, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Help establish and maintain efficient processes for grant tracking, documentation, reporting, and compliance.
• Assist with resolving grant-related financial and operational issues.
• Support reporting and audit-related requests involving grants.
• Help provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to the grants team.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure grant requirements and deadlines are appropriately managed.
• Perform additional grants-related projects and responsibilities as needed.
