Job summary

The City of Hialeah is seeking a Grants Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of the city’s grant portfolio, from opportunity research through award implementation and closeout. You will work with Finance, Budget, Procurement, Legal, and external partners to ensure timely submission and compliance.

This role supports grants administration under the Grants Administrator, maintains grant records, monitors deadlines, and provides technical assistance to departments and funding agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Communications, or closely related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of grant research, proposal development, grant administration, financial monitoring, compliance, or related governmental/nonprofit experience.
• Experience with governmental grants, federal grant requirements, electronic grant-management platforms, or automated reporting tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Researches and evaluates grant opportunities aligned with City priorities.
• Maintains a citywide grant opportunity pipeline and calendar of deadlines.
• Reviews notices of funding opportunity and program guidelines for eligibility and costs.
• Coordinates with City departments to develop project concepts, scopes, budgets, and milestones.
• Drafts and assembles grant applications, budgets, and supporting documentation.
• Reviews application packages for completeness and timeliness.
